Several projects (using both ERPs and fMRI) characterize the pattern of functional specializations during perceptual and language processing in "normal" adults (i.e. right-handed, normally hearing, sighted, monolingual folks aged 18-30). These studies also serve as the point of departure for our studies of neuroplasticity and development. Ongoing projects include studies of spatial and temporal selective attention and of phonological, grammatical, and semantic processing in written and spoken language. This research is funded by the NIH/NIDCD (2007-2012).
