As a teacher for 12 years (mainly 3-7 years olds) in Sweden and another 2.5 years in Australia (mainly 2-4 years olds) I was focusing on second language acquisition in children newly arrived to a new country or born to immigrants. In the brain development lab I will now be able to look more into differences between children's acquisition depending on for example age of acquisition.

During my undergraduate degree at the U of O I worked with Dare Baldwin on segmentation of action streams using pattern recognition (Baldwin, Andersson & Saffran, in preparation). In a subsequent study we found subjects being faster at detecting changes at endpoints of actions in comparison to changes inserted midstream of an action (Baldwin, Pederson, Craven, Andersson, Bjork, in preparation).
