SAIL: Summer Academy to Inspire Learning
This is the second annual Summer Academy to Inspire Learning, organized by the Economics Department for students who were about to become high school freshmen and who were identified by their math teachers as highly capable students although the students may not see attending college as a possible option in their lives. One of the goals of the program is to expose these students to various aspects of college life and to ultimately raise the likelihood that they will attend college and perhaps go on to become college professors.
The BDL organized the Psychology/Neuroscience Camp, which lasted a week and included interactive presentations by graduate student and faculty volunteers from the Department of Psychology on a variety of topics in psychology and neuroscience, as well as a discussion of

financial aid, a tour of the UO Museum of Art, and an interactive campus tour. Participants received Brain Lab tee shirts and danced to the sound of the BDL band.
